It's about time!

Well I have decided that it is about time for me to start posting regular posts in my blog. Yesterday my sisters and my nephews wife all came over together with my cousins wife for a card making day. We had a great time and despite lots of slinging off at one another and much noisy chatter we managed to make a few cards. Lunch was toasted sandwiches and Hisami made a delicious lemon cake desert with a hot lemon syrup poured over it. Baby John is learning both Japanese and English at the same time. He is a dead ringer for my nephew who is his Dad. Despite being half Japanese he doesn't look it. If you put his photo and Darren's side by side you would be hard put to tell the difference. I live in Australia and love our normally hot dry summers but the winter is not my favourite time of year. It is what we call really cold here at the moment but having been in America for a holiday in autumn we don't know what cold is. I remember walking across the battlefield at Ghettysburg and the grass beneath my feet was frozen and breaking off. That doesn't ever happen where I live and I saw my first snow ever in America. It never snows in the west over here. Most Australians have never seen snow. I was talking on chat to one of the other scrappers on pages in time and she said that in Canada where she lives it gets down to minus 35 degrees centregrade in their winter. Here we have an ocaisional minus 1 centregrade at night. We have had two years of drought and the rain in the last two weeks has brought welcome relief although the rivers and lakes are still very low. Over in the east they have had floods and some areas even had snow. Well maybe I will write more again this week so be good and God Bless love Dee xxooxx

diary of a scrap addict pt 2.

Hi back again and I am officially another year older, yesterday being my birthday. It began badly and steadily got worse. Every one in the family forgot my birthday except for Wendy and my friend Karen. To top it off I had password issues on everything. Also my computor wouldn't work properly. It was so slow that I became frustrated. The printer said it was out of ink and I knew it wasn't. The cat threw up on the carpet. The dog (who never barks normally) barked at everything that moved and some that didn't. My door bell gave up the ghost and I burst into tears of frustration while on the phone with a person who was trying to help me with my computor problems when nothing worked. Then Wendy turned up with a tub of Iceream from the junction icecreamery and everything was rosie again. Last night I ate icecream until I was full and I found that every thing was right with the world again. I made 2 new friends on challenge heaven and watched Rafters on the box while eating the icecream. Today I have already had a couple of phone calls of best wishes for my birthday although late it doesn't matter. Scrappy friend calling to take me out. Oh well there goes any hope of restoring order to the craft room. See you next time. Dee xxooxx

The diary of a scrapaddict.Page 1

Wow I can hardly believe it but I have finally created a blog. A bit about me, I am mad about scrapping and just about anything that starts with craft and ends with ing. I am sometimes consumed with scapbooking and when anyone see's me with a camera they groan. Not that this stops me. I plan one day to do an album of all the photo's where those who have pulled faces when I've taken the photo will find themselves in pride of place. I live with my dog Rosie and my cat Sophie. Although I have patiently explained to them time and time again that I am THE BOSS they just will not believe me. Oh well I can but try. I love living in western Australia and am loving summer. My other passion is gardening which sad to say is a little the worse for wear after last weeks mini tornado. At least we have a new topic to talk about out here in the comunity. I have comitted myself to do several new challenges for this month and am looking forward to finishing them. I must also scrap some of the pics from my childhood in Hong Kong as I have been collecting the papers for long enough. I once saw an album at spotlight that would have been perfect for it but unfortunately I didn't buy it and now I haven't seen any that can compare with it. It was a lovely red brocade looking album and wouldn't you know it I can't seem to get it out of my mind. Them's the breaks I guess and no it probably won't teach me any thing.K from next door mowed my back lawn for me today while I was inside scrapping with the girls. I am so grateful as it has been so hot that I had left it this week and it was a little bit overly long. Now I look out my craft room window and see my lush green lawn and smell the fresh mown grass smell. Did I mention that one of my favourite smells is fresh mown grass? Tomorrow is my birthday so I may just clean up my craft room as a gift to myself. Or not as the saying goes. See you soon. Dee
